Kathrine Allen, BS, MPH
Kathrine is a clinical research associate who resides in the DFW area. She relocated to Dallas, Texas from Chicago, IL in the Spring of 2015. She studied Biology and Nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Kathrine has also earned her masters and is pursuing her Ph.D. both in the field of Public Health at Walden University. Kathrine is using her degree in public health to excel at her career as a CRA and serve her community. An avenue for serving the community is in the area of pursuing excellence in clinical trials. Clinical trials foster research and health development to ensure the lifespan of our global community. Kathrine strives to enhance this community in her role as a clinical research associate.
Kathrine developed her leadership skills and health care interest at an early age. She is the oldest of three siblings. As the oldest, she provided care and support to her siblings. In addition to her role, she witnessed the need for health care after seeing her grandmother fall ill. These experiences assisted her to pursue a career in healthcare. Kathrine chartered in the healthcare industry in her young adult life. She worked in the Nursing/Emergency Room department at St. Catherine’s Hospital located in Pleasant, Prairie, WI. Her time in the medical field helped her to sharpen her professional and life skills such as empathy, integrity, time management, attention to details, and effective communication. Kathrine fell in love with research during her graduate practicum experience working with a clinical research project manager on a diabetes study.
This experience helped her to decipher the similarities and differences between patients in the healthcare field and subjects in the clinical research sector. Her exposure to the medical field aided her in the transition healthcare to research. In her free time, Kathrine likes to volunteer, visit local museums and read a good book. Presently, Kathrine is currently a member of the Dallas-Fort Worth Urban League of Young Professionals. As an active member, she volunteers with the Health and Quality of Life committee to advance and promote healthy and sustainable lifestyle behaviors that improve the overall well-being of its members. This is all while supporting the organization’s mission of providing philanthropy, networking opportunities and personal development to those in the community.
Kathrine’s health care experience stretches over 15 years. She is a professional, well-rounded individual who takes her work very seriously. Working with Kathrine means receiving quality work, executed deliverables, and proficiency in meeting timelines. Kathrine has had years of direct clinical trial experience in Pharma/CRO environment with Study Management, CRO oversight, Clinical Development, Data Management, Regulatory & Quality Control, and Site Management/Monitoring. She has hands-on clinical operations experience in leading the execution of global and domestic multi-site studies ranging from Phase I-IV. She has worked with cross-functional project teams to ensure that all study operational activities are conducted efficiently, meet enrollment goals, and are in compliance with all applicable regulatory institutes, FDA guidelines and Sponsor/Site SOPs.
